Built by developers
tired of sending test
emails to the cloud.
So we built LocalMail.dev. A desktop app that catches every email your app sends, locally, instantly, privately.
The problem
Email testing tooling has always been a compromise.
Cloud tools like Mailtrap send your test data to a third-party server. Open-source alternatives need Docker, a terminal, and ten minutes of setup. Neither is what you want when you are in the middle of a development session.
LocalMail.dev does one thing: it catches emails locally. Double-click, point your app at localhost:1025, and every email appears instantly. Nothing leaves your machine.
Our story
A small team. One shared frustration.
"I was reviewing email flows in security audits and kept finding issues that would have been caught instantly with better local tooling. Every developer deserves something better than a shared cloud inbox."
"Setting up email testing on a new project was always five steps too many. I wanted something I could install once and forget about. LocalMail is that tool. Open it, point your app at it, done."
"Most developer tools treat design as an afterthought. LocalMail had to feel as polished as the emails you test inside it. Good tooling should be a pleasure to use, not just functional."
What we stand for
Our values.
Privacy by default
Nothing you send through LocalMail ever leaves your machine. No telemetry, no data collection, no cloud relay. Your test emails are yours.
Radical simplicity
One download. One port. Everything works. We cut every feature that required explanation, and kept everything that just makes sense.
Honest pricing
One-time purchase, no subscriptions, no usage limits. You pay once and own the app. Simple pricing should be the standard, not the exception.
Built to last
LocalMail works offline, always. Your licence does not expire, the app keeps running, and it will not break because we changed a pricing tier.
